Home

This website is to support victims of historical child sexual abuse at St Aidan’s Irish Christian Brothers (Catholic) School, Sunderland. We’ve recently begun to speak about the abuse we suffered, inspired by the film Spotlight, and are starting to gather to support each other and consider our options.

Early in 2016, the first press article appeared about one of us. A brave survivor speaks out and calls for other victims to come forward. Read the article here and view the  video here

If you’ve suffered, we are glad you’ve found us. Please get in touch by filling out the form on our Contact page, in confidence, and we will contact you.

The sexual abuse scandal in the Congregation of Christian Brothers is a major chapter in the series of Catholic sex abuse cases in various Western jurisdictions

“Our human compassion binds us the one to the other – not in pity or patronizingly, but as human beings who have learned how to turn our common suffering into hope for the future.” Nelson Mandela

The school is nowadays known as St Aidan’s Catholic Academy
